Cooking Pancakes (Not Like a Pro)

Cooking pancakes is hardly a simple home cooking recipe in my book. They just take too much of my energy. How can cooking pancakes be this hard?!

Never again am I putting too much baking powder in cooking.
Last week, my husband gave me a home cooking recipe for a pancake mix. I was excited to try it out since I've always failed cooking pancakes from the instant mixes I buy in stores. Perhaps, this time I can make right out of cooking pancakes.

The pancake mix recipe needs the following ingredients:
-1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
-3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 tablespoon white sugar
-1 1/4 cups milk
-1 egg
-3 tablespoons butter, melted

I put all the ingredients in a big bowl; and mixed it until I got the right consistency. It looked promising when I cooked it in a greased pan. When I tasted it however, I knew I had to throw it!

My pancakes were too bitter! I might have put too much baking powder or too little butter into my mix. I also don't have a standard set of measuring spoons and cups at home which is the underlying reason to my demise. Nonetheless, I needed to throw my pancakes as no one (not even I) will eat them.

It's not my first time in throwing foods. (I'm not proud of it.) This proves once more that cooking pancakes is not my thing. It's a home cooking recipe that remains to be a mystery to me.

I'll be trying to cook this recipe again...someday. Hopefully, I make it right. I would never have thought that cooking pancakes would be this much of a challenge for me. I'm not happy about it!
